Senior Estimator

Job Description:

Our client, a construction management and general contracting firm, is currently in need of a Senior Construction Estimator for full-time employment.

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing full-scale estimates for mid-high rise residential development projects as well as commercial and hospitality projects.

Construction Estimator Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates for high rise residential development, hospitality, and commercial projects for probable costs of materials, labor and equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations,
• schematic drawings and specifications
• Advise on contract bid procedures, examine and analyze bids, recommend bid awards and conduct negotiations
• Establish and maintain contract bid processes
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a project
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Manage and co-ordinate projects, and prepare progress schedules

Requirements:

• 7+ years experience within construction estimation field
  • specifically in the NYC metro area
• 2 years working on mid-high rise residential projects
• Must have some exposure to hospitality, and commercial projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Office onsite requirement in the Manhattan, NYC
• Certifications Desired: CMAA, CCE/A, Commercial Construction Estimator, Construction Management Fundamentals
• Must have a bachelors in architecture, construction or civil engineering
