Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Produce high-quality structural engineering designs for light-frame wood construction projects, including commercial and residential buildings.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Client Collaboration: Effectively communicate with clients, architects, and contractors to understand project requirements and provide clear and concise technical solutions.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard software, such as Revit, Forte, and RISA, to perform structural analysis and design calculations.

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering & EIT Registration
  • Education: Structural Analysis course completed along with steel, concrete, wood, or masonry design
    courses (minimum of 2 design courses required, preference on wood, steel, and concrete)
  • Experience: 3 years of experience of structural engineering and 2 years of experience in light-frame wood.
    • working knowledge of IBC/IRS, ASCE 7, NDS, AISC, and ACI 318
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis and design, including load calculations, member sizing, and connection design.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in Revit, ForteWeb software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Also, must be able to calculate design loads according to governing code, identify load paths for gravity and lateral framing, and detail construction documents to reflect calculations.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience with RISA 3d
  • Proficient with Revit, ForteWeb, Blubeam
  • PE license
  • 3+ years of documented experience performing structural design of light-frame wood structures
    or small to medium size commercial structures
  • Completion of Master’s Degree or the following classes:
    • Structural Analysis I and II
    • Wood Structure Design
    • Steel Structure Design
    • Concrete Structure Design
    • Masonry Structure Design
